Behavior Policies
- Credit Recovery for Biology and Earth Science students will be held:
- June 13 - 24, 2022
- Monday thru Friday
- 8:30 am to noon
- Students do not need to register for a specific session.
- It is recommended that students arrive each day at 8:30 am and stay until noon, until they have completed all failed content (see #6 below).
- There is plenty of room in the Biology Lab to accommodate all students.

- Biology and Earth Science Credit Recovery are separate and additional courses. They are not an extension of the original Freshman Biology/Earth Science, and will be graded Pass/Fail only.
- Credit Recovery content is designed to demonstrate basic understanding of the subject, not mastery.
- The original failing grade will remain on the student's record and will not be adjusted.

- All coursework must be completed in the classroom.
- No coursework will go home with the student.
- This is not an online course - students must be present to recover their science credits.

- Each student will complete content specific to the 21/22 quarter they failed.
- Students will work at their own pace on materials provided by the instructor.
- Content is designed to be self-guided; however, the instructor will be available to provide guidance and clarification.
- Completed work will be evaluated for accuracy by the instructor on the day it is submitted.

- Once all coursework has been approved by the instructor, a passing grade for that quarter will be entered in Skyward.
- Students do not have to continue to attend class once they have accurately completed all content and earned a passing grade.
- If students have more than one quarter's credit to recover, they may continue with another quarter's materials.
Behavior Policies
- No phones will be allowed in the classroom.
- Students using or displaying a phone will be removed from the classroom and will not be readmitted that day.
- No headphones, earbuds, or similar electronics will be allowed in the classroom.
- Students using or displaying these items will be removed from the classroom and will not be readmitted that day.
- No unauthorized behavior will be tolerated during classroom hours.
- Students will be seated separately from each other and will work silently on their individual content.
- Students who use classroom time for anything other than designated content will be removed from the classroom and will not be readmitted that day.
- This includes, but is not limited to, drawing, doodling, sleeping, listening to music, phone use, talking, socializing, playing games, unauthorized computer use, disruptive or destructive behavior, etc.
- Bathroom and study breaks are at the student's discretion.
- Students may leave the room at any time for any reason.
- This is the student's opportunity to recover their missing credit. They may do that during each day's class time, or they may not - it is their choice.
- The instructor is present to help students learn, not to manage classroom behavior. If it is evident that the student is not there to learn, they will be removed from the classroom.
